I never cease to be amazed by some of the talented food bloggers who keep on posting recipes right through the holiday season. To a certain extent I was able to manage that last year, but this December my life is packed to the point of overflowing. That has been a good thing for my family, but it has translated to me posting fewer recipes this month. Luckily there are quite a few holiday recipes in the archives, so I would love to re-share some of my favorites. This will be a good chance for all the new readers and subscribers that this last year has brought to Free Eats (thank you!) to discover recipes that they may have missed when they were originally posted.
Happy Holidays and Happy Baking to All!
Celebration Worthy Cinnamon Rolls are one of our family favorites!
Sweet Potato Pull-Apart Rolls are always a welcome addition to a special holiday meal.
Cranberry-Orange Scones are a great thing to nibble on lazy winter mornings with family. I especially like that these are quick to make and don’t require rising. Another bonus is that they work well when made the night before (cut them into desired shapes, wrap with plastic wrap and chill on the baking pan) and baked in the morning.
My Spiced Cranberry Chutney is something that I can’t live without this time of year. Bright, bold, sweet, tart and spicy. It is the perfect condiment for leftover turkey sandwiches, but it also pairs beautifully with pork and chicken.
If the holidays put you in the mood for cookies and confections, here are a few recipes to consider:
Corn-Free/Egg-Free Marshmallows. Hot cocoa anyone?
And last but not least, an old favorite and one of my very first posts here at Free Eats: Chocolate Almond Butter Cups. As close as I’ve come to recreating a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup!
